    The Xceed Zip Self-Extractor Module is an optional add-on that can be purchased for use with the Xceed Zip Compression Library. The Xceed Zip Self-Extractor Module allows your applications to create fully customized self-extracting (.EXE) packages instead of regular .ZIP files.

    [Self-Extracting Zip files]

    Self-extracting Zip files allow a user to simply "run" the Zip file to extract its contents. The self-extracting Zip files contain all the code necessary to unzip their contents, so no unzipping programs (such as WinZip or PKZip), DLLs or other components are required on the user's machine in order to extract the contents of the Zip file.

    The Xceed Zip Compression Library lets your Windows applications transform an already existing Zip file into a self-extracting Zip file, or create new self-extracting Zip files. Combine these abilities with the Self Extractor Module, and your Windows applications will be able to fully configure the self-extracting Zip files they create.

    [Dynamic and fully customizable]

    Your applications can customize the self-extractor's title, icon, intro message, default extract path, text and button captions, and more. It can display a 'readme' file, a license agreement dialog, register filename extensions, create a program group, run programs after extraction, prompt the user for a decryption password, and much more.

    The Xceed Zip Self-Extractor Module lets you make 16-bit self-extracting Zip files that will work on all Windows 3.x, Windows 95 and Windows NT operating systems, or you can make 32-bit self-extracting Zip files that support long filenames and will work on Windows 95 and Windows NT operating systems.
