    Xceed Releases Binary Encoding Library

    Xceed Software, Inc. announces the release of the Xceed Binary Encoding Libraryｪ v1.0, a new COMｪ / ActiveXｪ library that allows developers to easily add binary-to-text and text-to-binary encoding capabilities to their Windowsｪ or web applications. The new library supports all popular encoding formats for maximum flexibility. It is part of a new generation of Xceed components which can work together to accomplish multiple tasks sequentially with minimal coding and optimal efficiency.
    "The Xceed Binary Encoding Library is part of a new component architecture developed by Xceed which allows Xceed components to work individually as well as together, so that multiple operations on data can be performed with only a single function call." said Odi Kosmatos, VP R&D at Xceed Software. "Right now, this new architecture allows applications to compress, encrypt and encode data in any order without the usual overhead incurred when using separate components. Upcoming Xceed components and upgrades will also use this architecture. We're building a strong component framework for developers to invest in." he added.
    The Xceed Binary Encoding Library supports the UUEncode, XXEncode, Base64, BinHex, Hex and Quoted-Printable encoding formats. As with all Xceed components, it has an intelligently designed and easy to use programming interface. It includes many sample applications and examples, excellent documentation, prompt technical support, optimised multi-threaded code, plenty of flexibility and reliable operation.

    [Encoding, not encryption!]

    The Xceed Binary Encoding Library is a library for Windows developers that allows applications to encode binary data and files into text and vice-versa.

    Encoding binary to text is necessary when sending binary data over some transports, such as email, or placing binary data in a text file such as an XML text document. Another area where encoding becomes necessary is when sending someone a digital signature or an encryption key.

    The library can encode or decode memory buffers, strings, blobs, streaming data or single files.
    The library supports a variety of popular encoding methods, including UUEncode, XXEncode, Base64, Binhex and Quoted-Printable.

    Like all Xceed components, this library is designed to be flexible yet extremely easy to use. In fact, it only takes one line of code to encode or decode memory or files.

    A single line of code can even be used to chain together multiple Xceed components like the Xceed Encryption Library and the Xceed Binary Encoding Library, so you can compress, encrypt and encode data into text just as easily as possible.
