Stata/MP の新機能

Stata/MPは、マルチプロセッサー・コンピューターのもとで並列実行による高速処理をはかったStata/SEの新しいバージョンです。

対象型マルチプロセッシング(SMP)に対応することにより、平均して2-プロセッサーの場合で約1.4倍、3-プロセッサーの場合で1.75倍、

4-プロセッサーの場合で2倍 と、大幅な処理速度の改善がはかられています。下記のグラフはStata/SEとStata/MPのパフォーマンスの

違いを示したものです。

処理速度の改善はコマンドの種類によって異なりますが、約半分のコマンドは、理論値を越えるパフォーマンスをを達成しています。

（たとえば2プロセッサーの場合、2倍またはそれ以上のパフォーマンス）。これは、複数のプロセッサーがそれぞれ複数のキャッシュを

使っていることからくるものです。一方で。特定のコマンド群、たとえば順次実行を余儀なくされる時系列関連のコマンド等では

並列化によるメリットは余り期待できません。
