Greetings! We have some new and updated applications that will be
available beginning May 28 that I wanted to let you know about. AD 1.0
(Algorithmic Derivatives) and Descriptive Statistics MT 1.0 are NEW
applications, and Descriptive Statistics 4.0 is an update to the
existing application of the same name.

AD 1.0 is an application program for generating GAUSS procedures for
computing algorithmic derivatives that improves accuracy for
optimization. It will often be used with Constrained Maximum Likelihood
(CML) and Maximum Likelihood (Maxlik) for that purpose. At the default
tolerance, CML and Maxlik can be expected generally to have four or
five places of accuracy, and standard errors will have about two
places. Accuracy essentially doubles with AD.

Descriptive Statistics MT 1.0 and Descriptive Statistics 4.0 provide
basic statistics for variables in GAUSS data sets. The main difference
between Descriptive Statistics MT 1.0 and Descriptive Statistics 4.0
is:

* Descriptive Statistics MT 1.0 is a new threadsafe application that
takes advantage of structures; it is not guaranteed to be completely
compatible with code written with Descriptive Statistics 3.1, but it is
recommended for those who are making new purchases of the application
as all applications are expected to eventually be updated to threadsafe
versions.

* Descriptive Statistics 4.0 is an update to Descriptive Statistics 3.1
and is compatible with code written with the older version. It is not
threadsafe, but it is available for those who have existing code who
want the new features available. short
